Cannot download any Patch Signatures on ZENworks 11 Appliance

Situation

No patch signatures are downloaded

All signatures have an error of the form "Signature Download XXX.pls failed" in /var/opt/novell/log/zenworks/loader-messages.log

Resolution

The appliance code was fixed, and reissued, and does not appear in the current version

Workaround:
In a terminal session on the appliance, issue the commands
chown zenworks:zenworks /opt/novell/zenworks/zpm
/etc/init.d/novell-zenloader restart

This will ensure that the user and group "zenworks " have the correct rights, and will restart the zenloader service.
 
The patch replication will start at the scheduled time, but if replication is desired immediately, in ZCC > Configuration> Patch Management> Subscription Service Information> Click Update Now to start the replication.
