"Password expired for user. returning failed authentication" in the Mobility-AppInterface Log file

Environment

Novell Data Synchronizer Connector for Mobility
Novell Data Synchronizer Mobility Pack Update 1
Novell ConsoleOne 1.3.6

Situation

Unable to connect to Data Synchronizer Server from the device.
Can login into all LDAP password associated applications but cannot access Data Synchronizer Server from the device.

Resolution

  1. Open ConsoleOne.
  2. Browse to the user object in the Context.
  3. Right Click on the user properties of the affected user.
  4. Browse to the Restrictions Tab > Password Restrictions.
  5. Check if the Password is expired. If expired, Change the Password.
  6. If the Password is current and the Force Periodic Password changes is unchecked,
  7. Click on Page Options at the Bottom-Left corner of the window.
  8. Highlight Restrictions. Click on Disable.
  9. Click OK and close the User Properties window.
  10. Reopen the User Properties window.
  11. Click on Other Tab. Select the Password Expiration Time Attribute.
  12. Click on Delete.
  13. Click Apply and Close the Window.
  14. Open the Properties of the User.
  15. Click on Page Options.
  16. Highlight the Restrictions tab, Click on Enable.
  17. Restart the Mobility Connector and the GroupWise Connector.
  18. Login from the Device.
