Cannot hide Z-Icon when running ZAM 10

Novell ZENworks 10 Asset Management - ZAM 10

Situation

The Zicon in the taskbar cannot be hidden when running ZAM 10, because there are no policies available to do so (with ZCM 10, the "ZENworks Explorer Configuration Policy " can be used to hide the icon, see https://www.novell.com/documentation/zcm10/zcm10_policies/data/bau5n68.html )

Resolution

For ZENworks 11: A fix for this issue is included in ZENworks 11, see KB 7006995 "ZENworks 11 - information and updates" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support
In ZENworks 11, a ZENworks Explorer Configuration Policy can be created, even when only ZENworks Asset Management is licensed, this allows the ZENworks icon to be hidden.
 
For ZCM 10.x: Workaround:
delete the registry value "ZenNotifyIcon " from HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
 
Note that this key will be reinstated if the agent is upgraded
