Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2) Linux Support Pack 2

Situation

The novell-cifs service will not start
Nothing is written to /var/log/cifs/cifs.log or /var/log/messages

Resolution

Make sure the libsmbsharemodes RPM is not installed.
