Unable to start the GroupWise Connector

Environment

Novell Data Synchronizer Connector for GroupWise
Novell GroupWise
Novell GroupWise Mobility Service

Situation

ERROR: "An error has occurred starting the connnector" while starting the GroupWise Connector
ERROR: "Error: Please verify that the Connector Manager is running and that the connectors.xml is correctly configured." while clicking show details on the above error  

Resolution

  1. Check if the SOAP URL is proper. The SOAP URL should be in the following format:         http://IP_Address_of_POA:7191/soap
  2. Check if the Trusted Application name and Trusted Application Key are proper. If not, please follow the steps here for assistance in creating Trusted Application in GroupWise 2014, or here for older versions
  3. Check if the GroupWise Connector Server IP Address is correct. This is the listening address that GroupWise talks to the Mobility server so it should be the IP Address of the Mobility Server.
  4. Check if  SOAP is enabled on the GroupWise Server which is described here if running 2014 or here for older versions.
The above settings below can be found in GMS admin console | Config | GroupWise and the config file is located at /etc/datasync/configengine/engines/default/pipelines/pipeline1/connectors/groupwise/connector.xml
