Environment

Novell ZENworks 11 Configuration Management Bundles
Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management with Support Pack 2 - 10.2 Bundles

Situation

  • ZENworks Configuration Management Zone upgraded to ZENworks 11
  • Managed devices are running ZCM 10.2.x agent
  • Install Action sets do not run for bundles that are created or updated after upgrading

Resolution

In order for the Action Sets to be properly processed, either:
  1. Upgrade the agents to ZCM 11 or
  2. apply the Field Test File found in "ZCM 10.2.x backward compatibility of 10.2.x agents in ZENWorks 11 Zone - see TID 7007265" which can be downloaded from https://download.novell.com/Download?buildid=CCdDG4BfuJs~
This update is not required for managed devices running ZCM 10.3.x agents

Additional Information

Changes in the structure of the bundle object to support the "sandbox " feature of ZENworks 11 means that the older agents do not know how to process the bundle correctly. The FTF files allow ZCM 10.2.x agents to understand the new bundle format
