Situation
Can the eDirectory dib be cloned from a 32bit version to a 64bit version?
Resolution
The eDirectory dib is independent from the whether the platform is 32bit or 64bit.
The eDirectory dib can be cloned from a 32bit eDirectory server to a 64bit eDirectory server.
It is important to maintain the same eDirectory version on the target server that is installed on the source server.
Example: If eDirectory 8.8.5 32bit is installed on the source server, then eDirectory 8.8.5 64bit should be installed on the target server.
NOTE: A change in architecture is not supported.
Example: If the target server is running Solaris, the dib cannot be moved to Linux. Both servers must be the same OS with the exception of 32bit to 64bit.
