Environment
Novell Access Manager 3.1 Linux Access Gateway
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 Service Pack 3
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 Service Pack 3
Situation
Purpose:
Upgrading Novell Access Manager 31 to 31sp2 following the documentation.
Have positioned the file lagrpms.tar.gz in an HTTP server.
Symptom:
Launching the lagupgrade.sh script it stops immediately trying to download via HTTP the lagrpms.tar.gz file giving this error:
gzip: stdin: not in gzip format.
Getting file info with "file lagrpms.tar.gz" it shows it's a "gzip compressed data" file.
So seems to be ok.

Resolution
The error given is not a real file format error.
On Linux Access Gateway console use curl command like this:
curl --get http://<IP address or DNS name>/<path>/lagrpms.tar.gz
This will show the following message:
HTTP error 401.2 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to server configuration.
This means that there is a lack of permissions to the folder where lagrpms.tar.gz resides.
Give the appropriate permissions to the user connecting to HTTP server.
