Environment

Novell ZENworks Configuration Management 11.2

Situation

Windows 2008 R2 in AD environment, ZRS install fails.
 
ERROR:  STW00213 due Unable to connect to the CMS system database due to access denied for Administrator@localhost
 
From logs:
 
Unable to connect to the CMS database, reason Access Denied.
Unable to initialize CMS database, reason Access Denied.
 
 

Resolution

Prior to new install, ensure the following:
 
  1. DNS is set up properly to resolve the hostname of the server.  Try adding the FQDN of the hostname to the local hosts file.
  2. Login as local Administrator, not using domain authentication.
  3. Do not use RDP or remote access to install.  Install from the console of the server itself.
