Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2) Linux Support Pack 2
Situation
Having a one letter parent directory, it is not possible to view the rights of any files or directories located directly in this directory using iManager, for example;
/media/nss/MY_VOL/my_dir/Z/my_file.txt
When attempting to view the rights using iManager of my_file.txt in the above example, this will fail with the following error;
Operation failed, NWFile.searchForEntry: -255
/media/nss/MY_VOL/my_dir/Z/my_file.txt
When attempting to view the rights using iManager of my_file.txt in the above example, this will fail with the following error;
Operation failed, NWFile.searchForEntry: -255
Resolution
Work arounds available are to either rename the parent directory to not consist of only one letter or to use either the RIGHTS command line utility or the Novell Client to view / modify the rights.
