Unable to login when using an IP address in the the tree field

Environment

Novell Client for Linux 2.0 SP2
SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 Service Pack 1
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 1

Situation

When logging into the network using the Novell Client for Linux, the following error is displayed when using the IP address in the Tree field:
 
Cannot perform login: The system could not log you into the network.
Make sure that the name and connection information are correct, then type your password again.

Resolution

Reported to engineering.
 
Workaround:
Specify the tree name in the Tree Name field instead of the IP address.
