Restoring old Caching mailbox to new Caching/Online mailbox

Situation

Merging old Caching mailbox into the live mailbox with the different FID of the same user
Restoring old Caching mailbox to new Caching/Online mailbox

Resolution

If the FID of the user has not changed, messages can be archived and unarchived. However, if the FID of the user has changed, please follow the steps listed below. These steps can also be followed if the FID has not changed.
  1. Create a new Caching mailbox for the user if it does not exist.
  2. Switch to Caching mode.
  3. Click File | Open Backup.
  4. In the Restore from: field, browse to the old Caching mailbox.In the Password: field, enter the password of the old Caching mailbox.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Right click on the mail and click Restore. If all the items need to be restored click Tools | Find and switch to the Find Tab. Click OK to find all the items and select all the items and click Actions | Restore.
  7. The messages will be restored to Caching mailbox as well as online mailbox.

Additional Information

Notes:
It is recommended to take backup of old caching mailbox before performing these steps.
While specifying the path in the Restore from: field, old Caching path should be selected one level up the rofdata subfolder.
