Situation

LDAP does not start after change in IP address and sub-net mask on Linux server.

Resolution

Corrective action

  1. Open a terminal session for the server.
  2. Replace the old IP address entries with the new IP address in /etc/opt/novell/eDirectory/conf/nds.conf file.
  3. Replace the old IP address with the new IP address in /etc/sysconfig/novell/ldap_servers file.
  4. Run the command ndsconfig upgrade on the server terminal.
  5. Unload LDAP typing nldap -u on terminal server.
  6. Load LDAP typing nldap -l on terminal server.
