Patch bundle content does not import correctly

Situation

Patches are showing as cached in ZENworks Control Center
Patch bundles have been created for these patches


Some patches do not get installed on managed devices with an error message that no content server is available
The content replication status shows that the content is unavailable on the different content servers
After deleting the DAU bundles, they also might get recreated with unavailable content

Resolution

This is fixed in version 11.2 - see KB 7010044 "ZENworks Configuration Management 11.2 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support

For ZCM 11.1: Workaround: if it is not possible to upgrade to ZCM 11.2 at this time, in the interim, Novell has made a Patch available for testing, in the form of a Field Test File (FTF): it can be obtained at https://download.novell.com/Download?buildid=v3Js3kz_ycg~ as "ZCM 11.1/11.1a fix for Patch bundle content does not import correctly - see TID 7006971". This Patch should only be applied if the symptoms above are being experienced, and are causing problems.

This Patch has had limited testing, and should not be used in a production system without first being checked in a test environment. Some Patches have specific requirements for deployment, it is very important to follow any instructions in the readme at the download site. Please report any problems encountered when using this Patch, by using the feedback link on this TID.

Cause

During patch bundle content import a required flag in the SQL database does not always get updated correctly.
