Environment

Novell iPrint Client for Windows
Microsoft Windows 2008 R2

Situation

Is the iPrint Client supported on Windows 2008 R2?

Issue 1:
User Printer Configuration
64 bit Windows 2008 R2 server
Even though a print driver is associated to the printer agent for Vista and Windows 7, the following message is presented when attempting to install the iPrint printer to a Windows 2008 R2 server:

Error message: iPrint Client - No printer driver has been associated with this printer.
Error group: iPrint Client
Error code: 65550

Issue 2:
Workstation Printer Configuration
64 bit Windows 2008 R2 server
Internet Explorer crashes at the end of an iPrint printer install.  Even though IE crashed, the printer is functional after the install.

Resolution

Install the iPrint Client version 5.56 or later.

Additional Information

Limited support is available for Windows 2008 R2 with the iPrint Client versions 5.40 to 5.44.
