Environment

Novell ZENworks Patch Management 6.4 - ZPM6.4
Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management with Support Pack 3 - 10.3 Patch Management

Situation

Some Vulnerabilities and Packages are missing the KB number in the format KBxxxxxx .
Searching Vulnerabilities and Packages by KBxxxxxx does not find some Vulnerabilities and Packages.
Searching Vulnerabilities and Packages by keywords finds what appears to be the corresponding patch.

Resolution

Tips for searching for patches:

1.  Drop the KB and search by just the numeric value: xxxxxx .

2.  Other Microsoft patch identification formats to search on:  MS, KBxxxxxx, MSxx-xxx, MSxx-xxx xxxxxx xxxxxx ...

3.  Keyword searches from the title can also be used.  Confirm on the Microsoft website (support.microsoft.com) that the patch found by keyword is the desired patch.  Use items 1 and 2 to match up the keyword search to the patch number.

Additional Information

A.  Two patches are not found in the downloads (August 2010) using the tips:

a.  KB955759 (WU) - 'Microsoft Security Advisory: Description of the AppCompat update for Indeo codec: December 08, 2009'

b.  KB943452 (WU) 'Critical update for Office 2003'

It is confirmed that these two patches are not in the downloads:

This patch request has been reviewed by the ZENworks Patch Management (ZPM) Content Product Manager and they are both currently in the "unsupported" category.  This means that unfortunately the two patches will not be added to the content any time soon. However this request has been recorded in our bug/feature tracking system for future reference in case other similar requests to include them in the content are received.

B.  If a patch is not listed as a Vulnerability for a device, or group of devices, that issue falls outside of the scope of this TID.
