Salvage fails when path includes DFS junction

From Windows explorer browse to a path located off of a DFS junction. Right click and select Salvage Files. The client will return the error message "Insufficient rights".

 

Packet traces show that when the client attempts to allocate a directory mapping to the resulting path, the server returns error 0x89a9 "Invalid path with junction present".

 

Instead of the client resolving the junction path, it then attempts to get the effective rights. The server returns error
0x899c "Invalid path".
