Fanout platform daemons will not stay loaded

Novell Identity Manager 3.6.1 - Fanout Driver
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Service Pack 3

Situation

Asamrcvrd or asampspd daemons will not stay loaded on a SLES 10 Platform.

Resolution

The daemons would not stay loaded because non-existent users were in the exclude list of the /usr/local/ASAM/data/asamplat.conf file. Verify all excluded users are in the /etc/passwd file or place a # in front of the exclude lines so the daemons will not read those lines upon startup.

Below is an example of the exclude lines of the /usr/local/ASAM/data/asamplat.conf file:
