Environment

Novell GroupWise 8 Support Pack 2
Novell GroupWise 8 Monitor

Situation

Agents have been moved to groups in GroupWise monitor. After restarting all agents are back in the root folder and the groups are empty.

Resolution

This has been solved in a POST GroupWise 8 Support Pack 2 Hotpatch 2 fix and will be available in the next released patch.

If you need an earlier fix, please contact Novell Support.

Additional Information

Steps to duplicate:

  1. install and configure groupwise monitor. After installation start GroupWise monitor (rcgrpwise-ma start).
  2. start a web browser and go to the groupwise monitor webpage (http://server-ip:8200)
  3. now all running agents will be displayed.
  4. click on the create button to create a group. Give the new group a new name, e.g. TESTGRP and click on create.
  5. now the group TESTGRP will be displayed on the left.
  6. select an agent and click on "Move". Move this agent to TESTGRP.
  7. the just moved agent is not visible in the root folder and it is visible when you click on TESTGRP.
  8. close the browser
  9. restart GroupWise monitor (on Linux: rcgrpwise-ma restart)
  10. when GroupWise monitor is running again, start a web browser. The agent that has been moved to TESTGRP is back in the root, and that TESTGRP is not containing any agents anymore.
