Environment

Novell Client 2 SP1 for Vista (IR2)
Novell Client 2 SP1 for Windows 7 (IR2)
Novell Client32 v3.21
Novell Client32 v4.71
MicroSoft Windows 2000
MicroSoft Windows NT
Microsoft Windows 95
MicroSoft Windows 98
MicroSoft Windows 2008

Situation

Login scripts do not run if the Scripts tab is disabled
Need to disable the script tab on the client and still run login scripts

Resolution

Fixed in Novell Client 2 SP4 for Windows, by adding a "Make the 'Script' tab read-only during login" setting under the "Advanced Login" tab of the Novell Client Properties.  The parameter can be set to Yes or No, and defaults to No.  If set to "Yes" the "Script" tab will be visible, but cannot be changed by the user during login.

Additional Information

This occurs when the Enable Tab box is unchecked in the Login Services properties.  By unchecking Enable Tab within the location profiles settings of the client, the entire "Tab Settings" key is removed from the registry.   This causes the key of "Login Script" to be removed as well.  If the value for "Login Script" is 1, then the script will run.  If the value for "Login Script" is 0 or not present, then the login script will not run.
