Environment

Novell GroupWise 8 Support Pack 1 Hot Patch 1

Situation

When doing a full restore there is no clear indication as to when the restore operation has completed.

Resolution

There are a few new logging options available from the POA's HTTP page. To use these do the following:

1) From the POA's HTTP page select Configuration, then Log Settings.
2) Enable verbose logging and click submit.
3) There should be several check boxes appear. From there enable "Show Actions" and click submit.

Now, when the a Full User Restore is run from ConsoleOne the following will be included in the log.

12:21:09 8E4 Processing ac371435.001 Message ID(:0:0)
12:21:09 8E4 Processing Admin Message (ac371435.001)
12:21:09 8E4 Processing admin task: Full User Restore
...
12:21:11 8E4 Admin Task Completed: OK
12:21:11 8E4  Processed OK

First find the thread number next to the "Processing admin task: Full User Restore." In the picture l;og clip above the thread ID is 8E4. When the task is complete you will see "8E4 Admin Task Completed: OK" thus indicating the end of the restore.

An enhancement request has been entered to give additional logging for this task.
