Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management
Situation
After services restart or server reboot, Linux server shows novell-zenserver agent dead. ZCC won't load, ZENserver not listening on ports 80 or 443 (or installed alternative port)
/etc/init.d/novell-zenserver status
Checking for Novell ZENworks dead
Resolution
- Stop all ZENworks services.
- Start novell-zenserver in debug mode:
/etc/init.d/novell-zenserver debug - Check file at /opt/novell/zenworks/share/tomcat/logs/catalina.out
- If an error that looks like this is logged:
12/05/2010 09:57:27 28465 jsvc.exec error: Service did not exit cleanly
28/06/2010 16:22:00 32377 jsvc.exec error: Still running according to PID file /var/opt/novell/zenworks/zenserver.pid, PID is 3958
28/06/2010 16:22:00 32376 jsvc.exec error: Service exit with a return value of 122
then check for the PID file noted in the log error at the path noted in the log error , delete just that one PID file mentioned in the log error and restart the services
