Updating redhat from nu.novell.com doesn't update /etc/redhat-release

Environment

Novell ZENworks 7.3 Linux Management - ZLM7.3

Situation

Updating packages from mirrored redhat catalog provided at nu.novell.com does not contain the redhat-release package.  After a complete update, the release file still shows original installed version.

Resolution

The /etc/redhat-release file is updated by the package suseRegisterRES included in the redhat channels on nu.novell.com.
