Environment

Novell ZENworks Configuration Management 11.2 Business Objects Reporting

Situation

Migrated ZENworks 11.0 Virtual Appliance to version 11.2 (by installing the ZCM 11.2 Virtual Appliance to a new device and choosing "Migrate Existing Appliance"), but ZENworks Reporting Service fails to upgrade correctly
ERROR: BOE failed to install correctly

Resolution

Uninstall ZRS, and re-install ZRS

Cause

Migrating from an earlier version of the ZENworks Virtual Appliance (by installing the ZCM 11.2 Virtual Appliance to a new device and choosing "Migrate Existing Appliance") is not a documented or tested way to upgrade a Virtual Appliance from to version 11.2 (see Upgrading the Primary Servers to ZENworks 11SP2 in https://www.novell.com/documentation/zenworks11/index.html).
