VSS-BBT job fails with "Unable to read with Block Based VSS: Error code 2"

During a VSS-BBT migration or protection job it may fail with the following error:

Error Code      VSSBBTReadFailure
Type     PlateSpin.Athens.Sdk.AthensException
Message     Unable to read with Block Based VSS: Error code 2.

This issue is normally due to corruption of the source disk or lack of free space.

Steps to resolve the error:

1. Make sure there is enough free space on the source volume and also verify that there is no other application or service using VSS at the same time as the PlateSpin Controller.

2. Run CHKDSK on the source server to check for problems. Use CHKDSK to resolve the problems on the source.

3. Check the event logs of the source server for any disk related problems.

Any problems found in the event logs or CHKDSK output must be resolved prior to running another job.
