8503 error when proxying another account from a client running on a VMWare guest

Situation

If the GroupWise Windows client is running on a VMware virtual Machine, an 8503 error might be returned when trying to proxy another user's mailbox or display a Multi-User calendar.

Resolution

To eliminate this problem, the VMware adapters will need to be disabled on the workstation:

Right-click My Network Places, then click Properties
Right-click each adapter, then click Disable
