Situation

This article discusses information regarding a failed discovery of a Windows 2003 server with the following error message:
Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again

 

Resolution

This is a known Microsoft issue which can be resolved via Microsoft KB:

The FindFirstVolumeMountPoint function returns an "access denied" message on a dual-boot computer that has Windows Server 2003 and Windows Vista installed

If the server is not configure for dual boot perform the discovery by specifying a different connection address, for example, use IP or Hostname instead of FQDN. See the Microsoft Knowledge Base article below for more information:
