Recon - Reports take a very long time to Generate

Situation

 

Overview

When you attempt to create  a report in Recon 3.6.0 with Postgresql 8.2 the report takes very long time to generate.

This is a known issue with Recon 3.6.0 and Postgresql 8.2

Resolution

Workaround

Perform an export of your database using the Import/Export snapshot feature

1.

Uninstall Postgresql 8.2 and Recon 3.6.0 using add/remove

Download and reinstall Recon 3.6.1 with Postgresql 8.3

Import the snapshot into the new installation

or

2.

Install SQL 2000/2005 as the database

Import the snapshot that was previous exported.

The reports should now generate normally.
