Situation
When attempting to run any job, a full synchronization or an incremental job it throws a system exception error as in the attachment below.
As well you will find this exception in the event viewer as ‘System.IO.IOException: The file exists’
Resolution
The above error File Exists can occur due a Microsoft Temp file handling issue. There is a limit for number of files that can be handled. If it exceeds 65535 files in the C:\windows\temp directory then it could result with this error. To over come this issue please clean up the *.tmp files and restart the PlateSpin Server once.
