Situation
Installing OES2SP2 DSFWIn the configuration of DNS the "Use secure LDAP port" is unchecked.Novell DNS is installed on another server so the existing DNS locator objectand proxy user is used for the new install.The /var/log/YaST2/y2log show the following:2010-04-30 16:23:15 <3> DSFW(9587) [bash] ShellCommand.cc(shellcommand):78 DNS Runtime user object Already Exists:cn=Admin,o=novell2010-04-30 16:23:16 <3> DSFW(9587) [YCP] Edirectory.ycp:4217 Unknown errorwhile configuring Novell DNS Services: 1392010-04-30 16:23:30 <3> DSFW(9587) [YCP] Report.ycp:484 Unknown error whileconfiguring Novell DNS Services: 139When the dns-inst is run from the command line the install will also fail andthe return value is 139. When the exact configuration values are used except "Use secure LDAP port"remains checked the install of DNS succeeds.
Resolution
The workaround is to enable "Use secure LDAP port" during the install.
