XSRVD daemon crashes every few days causing NetStorage to fail

Environment

Novell NetStorage
Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2) Linux Support Pack 2

Situation

NetStorage has been seen to fail every several days, requiring the xsrvd daemon to be reloaded before NetStorage will become funtional (just a reload of the xsrvd daemon seems to get NetStorage going without a need to reboot the entire OES2 Server).

When this happens, an error message like this begins to show up in the /var/log/messages file:
Apr 12 00:37:19 myserver novell-xsrvd-2[4295]: XSrvSChannel::init- Unable to create channel connection thread, error = 0000000C
Apr 12 00:37:19 myserver novell-xsrvd-2[4295]: XSrvD -ServiceConnections- SChannel intialization failed
Apr 12 00:37:19 myserver httpd2-worker: IPCCLNT -SubmitReq- Will attempt to retry RPC, count = 1
