Users are Not Prompted to Change an Expired Password

Environment

Novell Client for Linux 2.0 SP2 for SLED 10.0
SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 Service Pack 2

Situation

Using the integrated login in a NMAS environment (Universal Password, in this case), the message about "Password expired, N grace logins remaining. You need to change your password." does not appear. And, since there is no way to change the password even if it did, the user quickly runs out of grace logins and is locked out entirely. If you login to an account with a expired password NCL Does not prompt you to change password.

Resolution

To resolve this issue download and install the following client for the respective platform:
 
SLED 10.0: Novell Client 2.0 SP3 Patch 1 for SLED and SLES 10 SP3
