MTA on Windows server stops with Faulting application gwmta.exe

Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition

Situation

GroupWise MTA service quits every night at the same time.
Windows Event logs show Faulting application gwmta.exe,

Resolution

Turn off Edirectory User Synchronization.  The time the MTA service stops corralates with the time the MTA is set to do Edirectory User Synchronization.
 
At least one MTA in the GroupWise system should do Edirectory Sychronization, not all MTA need to do this.
