Situation
Backup software cannot see Cluster Volume Resources.
SMDR have been correctly configured to register with SLP, but the backup software does not see the volumes.
Querying SLP with:
# slptool findsrvs service:smdr.novell
will show two entries for the volume:
"service:smdr.novell://aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd:413/CLUSTER_RESOURCE,65535"
"service:smdr.novell://aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd:413/CN=CLUSTER_RESOURCE,O=ORG,65535"

Resolution
The above information is advertised by the iFolder TSA. This should have been solved in later patches for the iFolder TSA, so that the FDN is not shown, and only the NCP object is shown (which means that there should only be one entry in SLP for each resource).
First apply the latest iFolder patches, and check if this will resolve the issue.
If iFolder is not used, then the iFolder TSA should be unloaded:
# /opt/novell/sms/bin/smsconfig -u tsaif
will unload the iFolder TSA. Commenting out the line "autoload: tsaif" from /etc/opt/novell/sms/smdr.conf" will prevent it from being loaded when smdrd is restarted.
