Cannot launch newly-added Diagnostics Application

Environment

Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management with Support Pack 2 - 10.2 Remote Management

Situation

New application added to the list of "Diagnostics Applications" - launching a Remote Diagnostics session, selecting the new application.

ERROR: "Unable to launch the Remote Diagnostics application [name of new app]. Ensure that the application exists in the specified path."



Newly-added application does not appear in the Remote Diagnostic toolbar
(in this case, notepad is missing)

Resolution

Perform a refresh on the target device, so that it can re-read the list of valid Diagnostic Applications from ZCM
(in this case, notepad is now present)

This is fixed in version 11.2 - see KB 7010044 "ZENworks Configuration Management 11.2 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support - the fix is a change to the error message, to make it clear that a refresh is needed.
