Unlocking workstation using Windows' credentials and entering an incorrect password causes two bad password attempts

Environment

Novell Client for Windows 2000/XP/2003 4.91 Support Pack 5 Login

Situation

In a mixed Active Directory and eDirectory environment where the workstations have been configured to use the Windows' credentials to unlock the workstations (Unlock Workstation Credentials is set to 2, Windows credentials only), entering an incorrect password will send two invalid authentication requests to the AD domain.

Resolution

This issue has been resolved with an updated LOGINW32.DLL dated 26Feb2010 or later.
