Situation
iprint_nss_relocate script fails with error "ndsstat output is giving invalid server container"
The iprint_nss_relocate script is failing to properly parse the /tmp/iprint_nss_relocate_tmp to retrieve the server name. Additional information below.
The iprint_nss_relocate script is failing to properly parse the /tmp/iprint_nss_relocate_tmp to retrieve the server name. Additional information below.
Resolution
Workaround:
Modify the iprint_nss_relocate script to match your servers' localization settings. All commands are executed in a shell.
1. Key ndsstat and hit enter.
2. Write down the 3rd line of the output (This will be "Server Name" in English)
3. Open the /opt/novell/iPrint/bin/iprint_nss_relocate script in vi (or your favorite text editor)
4. Replace "server name" on line 234 with the equivalent word noted in step 2.
5. Save the file and exit the editor.
6. Re-run the iprint_nss_relocate script.
