Install of ZDML 7 Sp1 IR4a fails with Non-Fatal Errors

Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop Management on Linux Support Pack 1 - ZDML7 SP1 IR4a
Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2) Linux

Situation

The installation of "ZENworks Desktop Management on Linux Support Pack 1 IR4a" on Open Enterprise Server 2 fully patched will report "Non-Fatal" Errors. During the installation process the section "Tree information" will not come up, and that will result in any related eDirectory actions during the install failing.

Resolution

Fixed in ZENworks 7 Desktop Management on Linux Service Pack 1 Interim Release 4b, available at https://download.novell.com/Download?buildid=3wTSDvAiSgw~
 
Workaround:
Follow the steps mentioned below:

1. mount the ZDML 7 Sp1 Ir4a iso

2. copy the contents of that iso to a directory like /tmp/ZDM7SP1_IR4a/

3. open the file "/tmp/ZDM7SP1_IR4a/setup " in a text editor and look for the entry

    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/novell/eDirectory/lib:/opt/novell/lib:/tmp/zdmlib:/usr/lib

4. change this line to

    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/tmp/zdmlib:/opt/novell/eDirectory/lib:/opt/novell/lib:/usr/lib

5. save the changes

6. start the installation from the directory /tmp/ZDM7SP1_IR4a / with "./setup "
