Content from PDF files created with 3rd party applications is not searchable within Vibe

Situation

Searching for content within pdf files created using 3rd party applications (such as Nitro PDF Professional) returns no results in Vibe.

Resolution

Newer versions of the Oracle Outside In converters (formerly stellent converters) appear to support content extraction from PDF files created using 3rd party applications (such as Nitro PDF Professional).

A patch for this is available; please contact Novell Technical Support with reference to this TID to obtain the patch.

Cause

The version of Oracle Outside In converters shipped with Vibe 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4 did not support content extraction of these PDF files.
