"Error: Failed to create needed directories on the Linux Server. Verify that the server can be reached..."

The GroupWise Server Migration Utility errors at the point of beginning to copy files from the source server to the destination server with the error "Failed to create needed directories on the Linux server.  Verify that the server can be reached through SSH."

This error can occur if a "space" character is contained within the Linux password.  Temporarily change the Linux password for the User ID used to access the Linux system to one that does not contain any extended characters, or use a different user.  After completing the migration, the password can be reset to its previous value.
