Novell Cluster Services 1.8.4
Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2) SP2
Situation
Go into Yast2 --> OES Install and Configuration --> Select the "Novell Cluster Services (NCS)" pattern to install.
When the "Novell Open Enterprise Server Configuration" screen comes up, "Novell Cluster Services (NCS)" is not on the list to configure.
Resolution
After stracing the yast2 process, it was noticed that some files Yast2 was looking for were missing, specifically:
/user/share/YaST2/clients/ncs.ycp
/user/share/YaST2/clients/ncs_auto.ycp
/user/share/YaST2/clients/ncs_info.ycp
/user/share/YaST2/clients/ncs_proposal.ycp
/user/share/YaST2/clients/ncs_upgrade.ycp
Running rpm -qf /user/share/YaST2/clients/ncs.ycp on a server that did have those files showed that the file belonged to the "yast2-novell-ncs" rpm. Even though the OES pattern said it was installed, this rpm was not. Install it manually through YaST --> Software Management, then retry the NCS install again.
