Environment

Novell GroupWise 8 Support Pack 1
Novell ConsoleOne

Situation

Symptoms:
Unable to administer GroupWise domains running on Linux with ConsoleOne on Windows.
Error DB59, This GroupWise administration version is older than the minimum allowed by the system administrator.
ConsoleOne on Linux is able to administer GroupWise.
Administrator set the system to not allow snap-ins older than GroupWise 8 Support Pack 1.

Change:
Applied support pack 1 for GroupWise 8 and set ConsoleOne to not allow administration by older snap-ins

Resolution

This has been reported to development.

Workaround:
In ConsoleOne under System Preferences|Lockout Settings, enable the lockout for snap-ins older than a specific date rather than those older than support pack 1.

Additional Information

The cause of this issue is the the Windows snap-ins have a slightly older time-stamp than those on Linux.  The Lockout Settings look at the exact time-stamp and therefore assume the Windows ConsoleOne version is too old even though it is running the same version (8.0.1).
