Unable to login to GroupWise MAC Client if SSL is set to Required on the POA for Client/Server port

Environment

Novell GroupWise 8
Apple MAC OS 10.6.2 (Leopard)

Situation

ERROR: "Post Office Agent requires SSL connection. Check your Windows Registry settings and make sure it is turned on, then try again." while logging on if POA has SSL set Required on the Client/Server Port
Unable to login to GroupWise MAC Client if SSL is set to Required on the POA for Client/Server port

Workaround Steps:
 
Change the SSL to Enabled from Required by following the steps listed below:
  1. Launch ConsoleOne.
  2. Connect to the Domain Database.
  3. Highlight the Post Office Object.
  4. Use the drop-down list to display Post Office Agents.
  5. Right Click on the POA object and click Properties.
  6. Click GroupWise | Network Address.
  7. Change the SSL on Internal Client/Server to Enabled.
  8. Click Apply and Close.

Notes:
 
SSL option Required - The POA forces SSL connections. Non-SSL connections are denied. Clients older than GroupWise 6.5 cannot connect to the POA.
SSL option Enabled - The GroupWise Client determines whether an SSL connection or non-SSL connection is used with SSL-enabled POA.
