Situation
This TID is to provide information on the current status of the Gateway and it's support against Exchange 2007.
Resolution
Currently the Gateway is not supported against a Exchange 2007 environment, or anything newer, as it has not been certified/tested nor developed to work with Exchange 2007. Novell Technical Services will attempt to troubleshoot a mixed Exchange 2003/2007 environment, but this is a limited support effort and can not promise a fix, a mixed 2003/2007 has not been tested nor developed for. The Gateway was only developed and tested for a pure Exchange 2000 or 2003 environment and will only be fully supported in those environments.
There are some customers who are running fine in a mixed 2003/2007 environment, but this does not guarentee that it will remain working. If problems are encountered in this situation, they will be considered defects and will not likely be looked at.
In other words, if you are running anything newer then a 2003 environment, mixed or otherwise... if it works then it works, but if it breaks then it is encouraged for you to find a work around in your existing environment.
We currently maintain no plans to support 2007 or beyond with this gateway, but are considering alternate methods to obtain much of the same goals.

Alternatives:
An alternative to using the Gateway for email exchange, is to engage a Consulting Organization, such as Novell or another, or to speak with a partner who is familiar with both products, to create an alternative means of message flow. Most specifically, through the means of SMTP.
Novell's Identity Management products could also be used to accomplish the same result especially for syncing contacts without use of the Gateway for Exchange.
