External DNS queries fail
Packet trace shows a response of "server failure"

Try changing the forward option on the DNS server to "only" and make sure there is something in the forward list.  This is done using the DNS/DHCP Management Console or iManager.  Reload named.nlm and see if it works.  If this works, it indicates a problem with RootServerInfo.  You can recreate it with these steps:

1.  Unload named.nlm
2.  Remove the RootServerInfo eDirectory object
3.  Remove sys:\etc\dns\rootserverinfo.db
4.  Run dnipinst -f at the server console
    a.  login as admin
    b.  select "yes" to continue
    c.  specify a container for RootServerInfo
5.  Load named.nlm
