Content repository on CIFS share will not replicate automatically

Environment

Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management with Support Pack 2 - 10.2

Situation

Content repository configured on a CIFS share fails to replicate automatically.  To replicate after a change is made to a policy or bundle, the primary servers must be refreshed.

After rebooting the ZCM server, the permissions to the files in the repository are changed to root.root, and need to be reset back to zenworks.zenworks.

System Update fails to update the following packages on the primary servers using a CIFS mounted repository:
novell-zenworks-zmgservices
novell-zenworks-zmgpolicy
novell-zenworks-znews-server

Resolution

WORKAROUND (partial):
The permissions problem can be solved by modifying the CIFS mount in /etc/fstab

//server/volume /var/opt/novell/zenworks/content-repo cifs
username=server_user,password=server_password,_netdev,uid=zenworks,gid=zenworks

Status
