Situation
The GroupWise API 4.x Gateway no longer processes -GET-DIRECTORY- commands.
Error: "Error reading a record from WP Directory Service"
-GET-DIRECTORY- does not return any results.
Resolution
GroupWise 8.x has added some additional database fields from eDirectory to allow for expanded user attributes.
The API Gateway is not able to process these new fields and therefore Errors.
The API Gateway is no longer being developed and can not be updated.
A workaround is to create an older GroupWise system such as GW 6.5 or 7.0.3 with the API Gateway and make this System External to the production system. This domain can then be merged into the live system. This has worked for other customers.
The best scenario is to no longer use the old API Gateway and Microsoft Connector and move to the GroupWise 7 Gateway for MS Exchange.
