Environment

Novell GroupWise 8 Support Pack 1
Novell GroupWise 8 Support Pack 1 Hot Patch 1
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Windows XP Professional Support Pack 3

Situation

Problem:
The customer has had users hat cut and
paste names back and forth from the CC: line to the TO: line and vice versa in
different orders and combinations and when the users click on SEND, the
GroupWise users that are on the TO: and OR the CC: line have been addressed and
sent out in U.P.D format, so that when an internet user replies to all, he or
she gets an undeliverable. The undeliverable is received as the customer has a
SPAM appliance that does not like U.P.D@DomainName.

Resolution

This problem has been duplicated in house.  Waiting for fix from development.  Workaround is to not cut and paste names between TO: and CC: fields.  Option could be to drag and drop.

Additional Information

Note: Customer has a Linux backend and several users use the Windows client to
access their mailbox to duplicate this problem. I cannot duplicate this with
the Linux client.

Steps to Duplicate :

Assumed User11 - 15 are internal GroupWise users in my system to duplicate the
problem :

1. File, New, Mail. - On the TO: line put User11, User12, User13, User14,
User15, <someUser>@hotmail.com, <anotherUser>@yahoo.com.

2. Insert any subject line and message body and CLICK on SEND.
3. Clear your frequent contacts and exit the GW client and restart, in case of
any cache information that might throw off the test.

4. Go to your Sent Items Folder and click on RESEND on the previous message in
step 1 and 2.

5. Cut and paste ALL names from TO: line to the CC: line
6. Cut and paste ALL names from CC: line to the TO: line
7. Cut and paste User11, User12 and <someUser>@hotmail.com to the CC: line
8. Edit the subject line to distinguish it from previous messages
9. Click SEND
10. If you go to the properties of this Sent message you will see the
GroupWise users have U.P.D format listed.
