Windows XP workstation with SP2 or SP3
Workstations occasionally hang after Login at building desktop showing either blue screen (not BSOD) or wallpaper, but no Start Menu, desktop icons etc.
Running taskmgr to invoke explorer.exe manually brings up the explorer successfully.
Although the problem was more easily reproduced with nwgina.dll, it was also seen without the Novell ZENworks agent installed or any Novell components. Contact Microsoft support for help.
In one case hot patch for KB Article Number: 948277 resolved: "A blank desktop may appear when you log on to a Windows XP-based computer"
