Situation
What is the intent of the iPrint Migration Sync option?
Resolution
The iPrint Migration Sync option can be used in the following scenario:
The Sync option will create (migrate) the new printers to the target Linux print manager.
The Sync option cannot be used to update attributes to printers (driver associations, SSL enable, changed IP address in gateway load string, etc) which already exist on the target Linux print manager.
- A previous iPrint migration was used with the "select all" option.
- After the the migration is complete, one or more new printer agents are created to the source print manager.
The Sync option will create (migrate) the new printers to the target Linux print manager.
The Sync option cannot be used to update attributes to printers (driver associations, SSL enable, changed IP address in gateway load string, etc) which already exist on the target Linux print manager.
